EX: "Combattere Sempre" – Il ritorno della storica band veronese con un nuovo album di puro combat rock

Verona, 28 Aprile 2025 – Dopo sei anni di silenzio discografico, gli EX tornano a far sentire la loro voce con "Combattere Sempre", il nuovo attesissimo album in uscita per Andromeda Relix/Heart of Steel Records. Un lavoro che conferma la band come una delle realtà più autentiche e combattive del panorama rock italiano, capace di fondere l'energia del rock anni '70 con l'Heavy degli 80's, il tutto con testi in italiano diretti e viscerali.

Nati a Verona nel 1997 dall'unione di musicisti attivi nella scena rock italiana fin dai primi anni '80 – tra cui ex membri degli storici Spitfire, una delle prime metal band italiane – gli EX hanno costruito nel tempo un sound personale, lontano dai cliché anglosassoni, che la critica ha definito "spaghetti rock" o "pasta rock". Una miscela esplosiva di riff potenti, ritmi incalzanti e liriche che raccontano storie di periferia, ribellione e libertà.

Con "Combattere Sempre", la band riafferma la propria identità di combat rockers: un'attitudine che si traduce in brani essenziali e diretti, dove la protesta sociale si fonde con una visione urbana cruda e disillusa. Ogni traccia è un pugno allo stomaco, un grido di resistenza contro l'omologazione e l'ipocrisia, mantenendo intatta quella carica emotiva che ha reso le esibizioni dal vivo degli EX uno spettacolo travolgente e autentico.

"Combattere Sempre" è una esortazione a non arrendersi mai, a restare fedeli a se stessi e continuare a suonare con la stessa passione e intensità di sempre.

L'album che è stato registrato presso "Opal Art Studio " di Fabio Serra, con Mastering by Roberto Priori presso "Pri Studio" sarà disponibile dal 28 Aprile 2025 su tutte le principali piattaforme digitali e nei migliori negozi di dischi.

NOTA: La band è stata inclusa nel progetto "Roccaccio" un viaggio attraverso il tempo e lo spazio della cultura musicale nazionale, una compilation promozionale in CD, un'enciclopedia dedicata al Roccaccio, un moniker che vuole esprimere uno stile, un'attitudine, una dichiarazione di intenti con quei suoni distorti, spesso sottovalutati, denigrati, soffocati dalla polvere del tempo, che hanno animato cantine, piccoli club, festival indipendenti e stereo domestici. Il brano scelto per la collection si intitola "Salto nel vuoto".

AXE HERO announce new digital single titled "Country side" through DeFox Records/ Heart Of Steel Records, the release wil be available on worldwide digital market, Spotify, Amazon, Deezer, Apple music, Youtube and many others on  April 20Th 2024.

AXE HERO who returned to the scene in 2023 with a vinyl album from the "Italian Metal Heroes" series containing four songs taken from the 1984-85 demos. 

The band reveal the title of the new EP which will be released in 2024!
The product will be released on a limited edition CD by Heart Of Steel Records and is titled "Back to hell".
The EP contains five old songs of the band in version 2.0, recorded between June and July 2023 and April 2024. Here are the titles, "Lovin Japan", "Country side", "I'll fly", "The demon will appear" and "Cold cry", all songs that were originally released on demo tape released in 1983-84. 

The line-up includes Dave Moby Laperni on guitar, David Johansen Galliazzo on drums and Mirko Defox Galliazzo on vocals and backing vocals, Paul Blondie Gidoni on bass, Gian Dian as special guest on guitar and bass.

Il brano cantato in dialetto è una dedica d’amore verso la Sardegna, terra natia della madre di Matteo Favretto  alias MisterMat. Uscirà sul mercato discografico  il giorno della festa della donna e Matteo con sincera umiltà, intende dedicarlo a tutte le donne, guerriere come lo è stata la sua mamma. Oltre a MisterMat alla voce troviamo anche la cantante Julia Rox che per tonalità incarna fortemente il carattere fiero del popolo sardo.

Su diaulu de su circolo

MisterMat  “ Volevo scrivere un brano dedicato alla Sardegna e alle mie origini Sarde, da parte di mia madre.Ricca di montagne, boschi, pianure, territori in gran parte disabitati, corsi d’acqua, coste rocciose e lunghe spiagge sabbiose, per la varietà dei suoi ecosistemi l’isola è stata definita un micro-continente.

La sardegna è un luogo ricco di storia, il cui fiero popolo conserva la memoria attraverso le antiche tradizioni. Desideravo che il mio brano fosse evocativo di tutto ciò così ho scritto “Devil in a Circus” in cui cercavo di descrivere i sentimenti che prova un emigrante sardo che torna dopo molto tempo sulla sua terra.

Anche i miei nonni hanno conosciuto l’emigrazione prima durante la grande guerra in cui nonno fu chiamato alle armi. La nonna , Leonarda nativa di Bitti, nella Barbagia , con le figlie molto piccole fu costretta a fuggire in Jugoslavia, a Fiume. Poi con la fine della guerra e l’avanzata delle truppe Titine, dovette fuggire di nuovo in Sardegna. Fù perciò profuga per due volte. 

In Sardegna si riunì a nonno Peppino ma la Sardegna era poverissima e così lasciarono di nuovo l’isola per cercare lavoro e futuro nel continente.

Nonna era una donna fortissima che ha lottato per sopravvivere e per amore della sua famiglia, una vera guerriera!

Ed io sono orgoglioso di portare il suo sangue che ho ricevuto dalla mamma. Capisco perché sono così testardo e come mai mi ribolle il sangue quando mi arrabbio per le cose importanti, sono fiero delle mie origini e le voglio onorare.

“Devil in a Circus”però è  in inglese ed io non ero pienamente soddisfatto. Ma grazie all’ aiuto del poeta Antonio Demartis che ha adattato il testo, abbiamo potuto registrare il brano in lingua sarda. Ho interpellato una donna per cantarlo insieme a me, la bravissima cantante Julia Rox.

Volevo una cantante rock, che non si spaventasse difronte alla sfida ed ero sicuro che Julia fosse la persona perfetta, come ha dimostrato ampiamente.

Così insieme abbiamo realizzato il video di “Su diaulu de su circolo” prodotto da Enrico Santacatterina. Un lavoro di cui vado fiero, una meta che da tempo desideravo raggiungere, che mi emoziona e mi rende felice. 

Dedicato a mamma Mary, a nonna Leonarda, nonno Peppino alla Sardegna e a tutti gli amici sardi che ho nel cuore.

In onore a Leonarda , mi sembrava una bella cosa pubblicare il singolo e il video per il giorno della festa della donna e con sincera umiltà, dedicarlo a tutte le donne, guerriere come lo è stata lei”.

Heart Of Steel Records is pleased to announce the new album of gothic metal veterans SHIVAN.
The Album titled “Necessary Illusions” contains 8 songs Influenced Anathema, Paradise Lost, Moonspell and Tiamat.

Shivan were born in the 90's, from the idea of founder member Giovanni Landolina, as a band of friends in their twenties,
with a great passion for gothic/black metal (very popular in these years). In 1997 the band recorded their first four track demo titled "Bitter As Gall" (in cassette tape); it got good reviews and allowed the band to perform their first live gigs in Veneto, Italy. During the following years, took place the songwriting process, influenced by black and extreme metal while maintaining a decadent sound, that lead Shivan to record their first full-lenght "Whatever Lot's Above", released in 2002 by Pulsar Light Records. 

With Massimo "Beba" on vocals and Francesco Soccal on drums, the sound of the band changed, leaving behind the extreme side, to come closer to bands like Paradise Lost, Anathema and Moonspell and adding the anger of classic metal and dark/wave sounds. 

Several years later, this line up entered the studio to record the their second album "When Wishes Sicken": 8 tracks and a remix, done at Majestic Studios 
and published by My kingdom Music in 2007.
The band supported the release with many gigs, getting reviews, interviews and radio streams. In 2011, a cover of the song "Aurora B" by Krisma (renowned new wave/electronic band from Italy) is recorded and included in the official tribute release "Chybernation". Meanwhile, bass player Elia Dalla Pola and guitar player Fausto Cancian joined the band. Shivan are now back with a new work, which brings a more decadent and angry sound and explores the lives of each member through their emotions, fears and aspirations.

"Necessary Illusions", recorded by Rossano Palù (DB Boulevard/La Fuertezza), features 8 tracks of speed/gothic metal, where the listener is on the edge 
between the abyss and the sublime.
For fans of Anathema, Paradise Lost, Moonspell and Tiamat.
