DeFox Records and Heart Of Steel Records are proud to announce the debut EP of an exciting Hard Rock band from New York called CHARRED FUNK.
The album titled “Charred Funk” contains five instrumental songs featuring classic US Rock guitar riffs with wicked funky vibes.
Guitarist Peter Milo who was part of the New York hard rock scene in the 1980s, has a seasoned approach inspired by the legendary masters of the genre. His love for Van Halen, Satriani is quite evident!
The release will be published in May 05th - 2020.

DeFox Records and Heart Of Steel Records are pleased to announce the release of BLACK CAVE, a musical project from Brazil combines wild traditional early Metal with NWOBHM from the 80s.
The product titled "Caveman" that contains twelve tracks played entirely by Paulo Destroyyer and sung in English will be launched on the digital market on May 1st and will be distributed in major stores such as iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Deezer, Google Music, Youtube Music and many others.

Paulo Destroyyer Maia is a singer and musician based in Petrópolis, a popular Brazilian vacation destination in the Rio de Janeiro region, the visceral love for classic metal rock led him in a recent past with Abomination Wide, a trio that debuted worldwide in 2016 with Invincible Records that launched on the market the EP entitled "Hypocrites Must Die" containing five songs dedicated to a ferocious thrash and death metal.

The new artistic project BLACK CAVE proposes Paulo Destroyyer playing all the instruments and introducing himself as oneman band.
The sound within this album are a wild hard and heavy and remind the primordial frontal attacks of European metal at the beginning of the 80s and in particular to NWOBHM scene.

The songs were recorded and finalized at Petropolis, near Rio thanks to the collaboration of some partners who supported Paulo in this new artistic adventure, the Morozesk guitars, the Hs Stomp pedals and the designer Blair Gagliardi.

"Origins" is an album that Ricky want to put his feelings into it. It's not a crazy guitar solo album with million note for second, but an album that mix of heavy side at the begin and moving to a lighter side of his guitar playing. It's an album that you can hear without effort cause isn't just crazy instrumental stuffs, but has nice melodies here and there who tries to give you some moments of thinking about whats going on, but also gives you moments of just relaxation and peace.

When I wrote ''Three Days'' I was playing a video game called ''The Legend of Zelda - Majora's Mask'' where the hero ''Link'' has only Three Days to save the world from a catastrophic Moon Fall.

03 - Black Materia
This a song that I wrote many years ago when I used to play with some friends in a little church in my hometown in Sorocaba, Brazil. We wanted to have a dark and heavy instrumental song. So I came home after our rehearsal and created this song after many hours looking for nice tappings and harmony parts. When I finished the process was late night.

04 - Origins
''Origins'' is song that I wrote last year. I was looking for some instrumental smooth rock type of song. In this tune we had the privilege of have an amazing Brazilian guitar player called Alex Martinho perfoming a very beautiful guitar part. Thanks Alex. You Rock man !

05 - Believe
Everybody I think had a moment in life when everything is not the best or had some troubles and the confidence goes down. I had this kind of problems too. And this song is about don't give up. Cause the life is greater than our problems. So we must carry on.

06 - Digital Fusion
''Digital Fusion'' is a song that I recorded just very quickly. I grab the guitar and play the most crazy solo I can improvise over this harmony. After I had recorded the solo and listened I just have no doubt that there's is a fusion cool kind of sound that I want to have in the album.

07 - Blue Sky
When I started to write ''Blue Sky'' was a beautiful lovely day in my city. Nice weather, a cool autumn breeze. And the sky was incredibly blue. So I took this nice harmony that I already have and started to record. Very cool day !

08 - Toupeira's Paradise
When I was a kid. I had this fun nickname which is ''Toupeira''. What means MOLE in english. I always liked this nickname cause sounds funny ! So when I'm playing my guitar is like i have been in a paradise. The ''Toupeira's Paradise''

09 - Whispering
Imagine that you are playing your guitar or whatever instrument you like in front of a beautiful and calm river surrounded by little birds and a warm wind. That's the inspiration for this song.

Scyther will be taking ‘Blinded’ on tour this summer, hitting the stages of some of the important independent italian festivals.

Mirko DeFox e gli X-HERO per celebrare il 30° dall'uscita del debut album, datato 1987, pubblicano un EP intitolato "All Universe" con quattro brani inediti, "All'Universe", "Long legs Razorblade","My ship knows" e la ballad "Winter soul" registrati a metà degli anni 2000 presso i Vision Studios di Vicenza.

Come racconta Mirko, il repertorio della band in quegli anni si muoveva con sonorità legate al Melodic Hard Rock con venature raffinate di Prog Metal e Rock Fusion.
La costante ricerca di Mirko ad esplorare soluzioni stilistiche distanti dall'omologazione con i trend e i generi del momento, lo porta a ideare un album diverso, più viscerale possibile, dove le glorie del passato sono appena percettibili e le tonalità, i riff e gli arrangiamenti diventano così una caotica raccolta di umori inespressi.
L'album per vari motivi non vedrà mai la luce ma oggi dopo oltre un decennio alcuni brani registrati verranno pubblicati sotto forma di EP.

Con Mirko DeFox la line-up si completava vedendo Herman Tonini (attuale axeman della band) e Paris Bertoldo alle chitarre, Davide Pangrazzi alla batteria e Ivano Pangrazzi al basso.
Gli X-HERO con questa formazione si sono esibiti live nel nord Italia e in Slovenija e Croazia, da ricordare le performance alle edizioni 2005 e 2007 dell'80's Italian Metal Legion" Festival, nel 2005 l'80's Italian Metal Legion WINTER's Season, i concerti con Bud Tribe, Rain, Dark Ages, Heat, Rosko's.

"The Devil behind everything" is the new single and video with which Nocturna A.D. anticipates the publication of a new release consisting of 4 tracks planned for next autumn, which will see important changes at the musical level compared to previous works, both thanks at the entrance to the line-up of the new singer, both in terms of composition and structure.

The new EP includes the artistic influences of the individual bands mate. Contrary to previous record releases, the EP will contain different pieces, ranging from classical BlackMetal, to Industrial contamination of early works, rather than to markedly electronic intermedias.
The EP was produced, mixed and mastered at the Rock Lab Studio by Andreas Polito.

The legendary Prehispanic Death Metal XIPE TOTEC has returned with a new album called "Axomimitl" (crossed with arrows in Nahuatl language). This 2017 duo formed by Alex Camacho and Martin Martinez have achieved their most experimental album throughout their career. They gathered elements of their previous works to unify in "Axomimitl" a solid work in melody, harmony, speed, and brutality between multiple Pre-Columbian passages.
The introductions of Anthropology Documentaries and films on pre-Hispanic topics have been added here to show the listener a cultural boost. They follow the lyrics in Nahuatl language to get the appropriate atmosphere that has characterized XIPE TOTEC lately. A marshy, muddy, ancestral sound. A new element in this album has been the synthesizer pads to achieve an epic reminder of the Mesoamerican past cultures.
The longer, more melodic, more epic songs make "Axomimitl" the fundamental resource of composition. They incorporate different flutes and rattles that had not been played on previous records. Human sacrifices, mythology, and ancestral cosmovision, are basic in the lyric line, based on ancient legends and archaeological studies. As the Pre-Hispanic Metal is not only about dancers, nor say that they are warriors, it is also about a lot of reading and research. Here Archeology is a fundamental science as is music to art.
A song in particular, makes use of Spanish acoustic guitars, in strange conjunction with a pre-Hispanic passage. This rare fusion is allusive mainly to miscegenation, predominant in Latin America. Perhaps many find it strange, but the experimentation in this disk of XIPE TOTEC has been the main engine to go ahead.
If you want to listen to a fusion alternative in terms of ancient cultures, especially Mexihcah, the opportunity to listen to this new album by XIPE TOTEC "Axomimitl", wants to devastate your ears and that trips to the past of a Mexico Ancient ... to the mystical path of the Mexihcah.

Synaptik New "White Circles" Video Released & "Justify & Reason" in UK stores 10th April.

British heavy metal five-piece, Synaptik from Norwich, UK unleashed their anticipated sophomore album, “Justify & Reason” on March 10th 2017 worldwide digitally throughDefox records and physically in the US via Divebomb records but today (April 10th) it lands in various UK stores!

To promote the release of their new album "Justify & Reason" being available in stores across the UK today (April 10th) through Plastic Head Distribution, they have just dropped an official lyric video for their third single taken from the album for "White Circles".

Vocalist, John Knight had this to say about the lyrical meaning behind the new song:
“Lyrically the song describes the story of one person’s dependency on medication, antipsychotic drugs, the decision whether to stop taking them and return to a natural state risking confusion and illness or to continue on, the side effects, the withdrawals, the risks. All overseen by the ‘god like’ Psychiatrist. Singer John Knight worked for many years within the Mental Health system at management level and witnessed how the clients saw and described their experiences, “I spoke at length with a client about her feelings towards her medication and her Psychiatrist, she told me her Psychiatrist was ‘like a God’, someone who oversaw all the choices she made and controlled her life, it made an impression and I wrote this song that night, of course not every story is the same and medication plays a very important and useful part of people's life, it’s not an anti-medication song at all, but about the conflict a person has, the internal battle……telling themselves ’I’m well now, I don’t need these tablets’ without realising they feel this way because the medication is working, the side effects both being on and withdrawing can be severe”.

'White Circles' is a song with great progressive dynamics, light and shade, building to a frantic & blistering metallic end.

SYNAPTIK is a British heavy metal band from the East Coast of England. Formed in 2012, the band’s music incorporates genres such as Thrash, Power & Progressive metal.
Synaptik liberally mix the band members’ eclectic range of influences creating a hybrid sound-scape with an appeal that transcends music genres. Melody, heavier-than-a-blackhole-riffage, dynamic vocals, death metal aggressiveness and more combined to create the Synaptik spark.

SYNAPTIK members have, in the past, shared stages with bands such as IRON MAIDEN, EXODUS, ONSLAUGHT and many more.

Such a wealth of experience and endless talent creates a back-bone of integrity, quality and a powerhouse live performance every time.

“The Mechanisms of Consequence” is an album that impresses from the first to the last song with its mix of emotion, aggression, heavy guitars & melodic vocal style. Founded in eastern England in 2012 by brothers John and Ian Knight, SynaptiK passionately connect Progressive Metal with Death/Thrash Metal, melody with brutality on their debut album.
Carried by John`s voice and words which draw their inspiration from personal experiences, human emotion and world events SynaptiK can be found in the intersection of such big names as Queensryche, Nevermore, Death, Atheist and Psychotic Waltz.

Ranging from the heavy opener “Truths That Wake” to “Your Cold Dead Trace” featuring Alan Tecchio (ex Hades /Watchtower as guest vocalist whose contribution creates a chorus that implants itself in your head then refuses to leave) to the atmospheric and dynamic “As I Am, As I Was “.

Barbarossa band founded in March 2014 by Lorenzo and Davy, at guitars.
After meeting in a pub they decided to give birth to a new musical project.
They started to work with hate and love (musically talking), while Lorenzo was Death metal sound-oriented Davy came from a Thrash Metal background and they both wanted to impose their will.
After some weeks of insults, came the discovery of the concept of diplomacy and they started to go in the right way. They decided to create something based on ferocity, obscurity and melody….something modern but still with solid roots planted in the tradition of death and thrash metal.
Something technical but that anyway puts the focus on spontaneity of the songwriting.

After some time Cristiano took place behind the drum heads, giving shape and power to Davy’s still unripe riffs, while in the meantime Lorenzo was given the task to make the walls tremble with growl vocals and to dash off the first lyrics.
To complete the line-up, arrived Alex on Bass guitar. He has a really well kept beard, worked out fingers and a growl as deep as an oceanic trench, so how could him not being in?
Barbarossa’s live debut arrived in December 2014 at Britannia pub in Vedelago, with a baptism of fire over expectations and a wide appreciation by the crowd witch pushed the band to carry on the project and to ask the best from herself.
So went on with satisfaction live activity In Northern Italy with some live gigs in Veneto and Emilia Romagna.
Today Barbarossa entering in the underground metal scene with their first ep: Operation Barbarossa, the fruit of long session of composition, whole nights playing and to conceive a lot of songs that they can collect the positive opinion of the worldwide metal kids ...Barbarossa is ready!!
